Join Haas alumni and authors Laila Tarraf (MBA '98) and Mike Trigg (MBA '98) for a conversation on the growing sense of burnout among many Bay Area professionals. In her memoir STRONG LIKE WATER, Laila, a senior People executive formerly at AllBirds, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and Walmart.com, shares her professional journey after losing her husband, father, and mother in quick succession. In his novel BIT FLIP, Mike, a former entrepreneur and executive at YouSendIt, hi5, and Epiphany, provides an insider's narrative of the challenges of navigating Silicon Valley's start-up scene. From the pandemic to the housing crisis, stock market collapse to corporate ethical scandals, Laila and Mike will explore the drivers that are leading many Bay Area professionals to reassess their personal priorities, explore new careers, and even, for some, leave the Bay Area. The authors will share their own professional and personal journeys and their views of leadership and life, including audience questions and discussion.
Event will be hosted at Strawberry Creek Ventures, 1600 El Camino Real 1600 El Camino Real Menlo Park, CA 94025. Parking is available at venue.
